Spoilt Rotten ….

Yesterday was the start of the half-term holidays and Lauryn & I had a bead shopping trip planned. Although it was a grey, cold and wet
afternoon, we headed out to Haddenham, near Ely, 28 miles north of Cambridge.
At the end of a long winding route across the Fens, there it was: the warm glow of Spoilt Rotten Beads beckoning on a dull afternoon. It is a quaint little shop with a very good selection of glass beads and findings. But what made it worth the trip was the range of Miyuki Beads, semi-precious gem stones and pearls.
I bought a variety: strands of flower-shaped pink lace Agate, Amethyst chips, white quartz cubes, and cut glass beads, tubes of Miyuki beads and some rose-shaped beads.
I also picked up some useful beading tools: the Bead Stopper is a god-send – as it says on the pack: “no more crying
over spilled beads”.
The one item that has changed beading for me is the Miyuki Bead Jewelry Kit for a Net Pattern Bracelet. Everything you need to get started in bead weaving but it should also carry a warning on the pack: Contents is Addictive. I kid you not, it is incredibly addictive – a jolly good thing it’s the holidays for Lauryn & I have been beading with Miyuki beads all day! I’ve only stopped to write this to avoid RSI from beading! Watch this space for the results.
As for our visit to Spoilt Rotten Beads, we loved it and will certainly be returning – after all we now have a loyalty card to fill. :)
